Campaigning in Full Swing

16 Jul
We can hardly believe how fast the days are flying by! On July 29th, roughly 8 million registered voters will head to the polls to choose their next leader. And the race is heating up!! Now that the campaign season has officially opened, all candidates are pulling out the stops to publicly get their message out to the people, be it through videos, billboards or big campaign events involving entire cities and villages.

SAMAKE PRESIDENTIAL PLATFORM RELEASED

With official campaigning kicking of this past week, one of the first orders of business was for Yeah to officially release his presidential platform. This past Tuesday, in front of a room full of journalists and TV stations, in an hour long press conference at the Maison de Presse, Yeah detailed the 5 pillars of his platform focused on the establishment of strong institutions, the promotion of social justice for the emergence of a responsible and committed civil society, the growth of a competitive, sustainable and fair economy, the fight against corruption, the establishment of opportunities and education for young people and a focus on women as a real asset for the future.

MEDIA BLITZ

One of the key parts of the campaign during these last weeks before the elections is an opportunity for candidates to share a personal message with voters on National TV. Each candidate gets to share one campaign message each week on National TV. This past week, we had our talented friends Travis Pitcher and his team ( who did our last campaign videos) from Utah jump on the campaign trail in Mali to record and create our messaging for this election.

Our first video played this last Monday on national TV and it was an amazing hit!! Around the country, we had people calling our local team leaders and campaign HQ and signing on to campaign for Yeah in their areas. Why was this video a hit? Most of the candidates had videos showing their candidate simply speaking. Our video highlighted stories of actual beneficiaries that have been impacted by Yeah’s work in the fields of education and agriculture. Take a listen:

Help carry us to the end. If we are to maintain our current energy and campaign we need to raise much needed funds. We need your support and donations. The end is in sight.
More money needs to be raised to do big campaign events in the 10 regions, spread our message to many more smaller villages, do TV and radio advertising, billboards and staffing our voting booths on election day to prevent voter fraud.
Today please invest $100 or what you can so we can bring our message of change to every corner of Mali.
There are several ways you can donate.

  • Online donations can be made at www.yeahsamake.com
  • Donations can also be mailed to YeahForMali, 10412N Oak Circle, Highland, UT 84003
